Why Mi3?

Working with Mi3
MI3’s raison d’etre is to bring demonstrated value and quality to a project with consideration of the project investment.

The practice of a Value Engineering (VE) process is well established and is typically implemented at key milestones throughout a project. MI3 is structured to provide, in addition to VE, the continuance of the outcomes of VE, through independence of the design consultant, Quality Management (QM) review of the project.

Closely aligned with VE/QM is Risk Management and the associated requirement of Claims Mitigation (CM). These considerations are applied throughout the project development.

Accordingly, MI3 is structured to deliver, as the independent party, VE/QM/RM/CM. These integrated services are the means of ensuring project value and quality of the deliverable.

The assurance of project value and quality is founded in senior and experienced personnel embedded in the project.

The Mi3 Team Structure

Working with our team

Eric MacDonald
Senior Engineering Consultant

The staffing and organization structure is dependent on the nature of the project e.g. whether linear or multi-discipline. In all cases, the project leadership will be by Eric MacDonald, who brings extensive knowledge of engineering and management practices related to municipal infrastructure.

Critical to the philosophy of MI3 is the incorporation to projects of senior and experienced staff. The technical personnel are highlighted in proposal submissions, representing the project requirements and would include: Civil (pipelines and road and transportation), Process and Mechanical (water and wastewater treatment and water/wastewater pumping and storage), Electrical and I & C (multidiscipline projects), Environmental (EA’s and project design and construction stages), Communications (public and stakeholder participation), Construction (compliance to the design concept).

The technical skills are applied to projects with Value and Quality considerations with a strong focus on Risk and Construction Claims Mitigation.

Mi3 Advantages

Advantage of working with Mi3
  1. MI3 brings an independent but project embedded service for which projects have traditionally demonstrated the need (poor quality, extended schedule, budget overruns, encountering unpredicted risk events, construction claims etc).
  2. MI3 services allow the client/owner to retain the services direct and be managed by the design consultant and thereby providing an integrated project delivery process.
  3. MI3 team is devoted to the philosophy of impartial consideration of project value and quality.
  4. MI3 is through the company leadership able to introduce the requisite senior and experienced team personnel.
